Our In-Person Connect Group Programs encourage the development of both peer and mentoring relationships in a fun and healthy way. Littles connect with each other and with volunteers who act as positive role models while engaging in a wide range of activities, personal experiences, and shared interests.

We offer a variety of group programs that help teach youth new skills including snowboarding, paddling, art and golf. We also offer groups that focus on topics such as healthy living, positive self-image, and healthy relationships. Our group programming connects youth and community mentors to explore, learn, laugh and have fun. The timing of each group varies depending on activity, but typically a group runs 1.5 to 2 hours once a week for 6 weeks in the late afternoons or evenings.

Proudly supported by CN Rail, Jumpstart and the Prince George Community Foundation

Volunteers

Volunteers in the In-Person Connect Group Programs are able to sign up for various groups throughout the year based on their interests and availability. The flexibility of these programs also allows volunteers to host brand-new groups they help design if they have a particular skill they want to share with a group of Littles!

Depending on the type of group, volunteers meet and connect with their Littles for 1.5 to 2 hours a week while participating in a variety of different activities. We provide all volunteers with the supplies needed to participate, as well as extensive training on how to facilitate fun and engaging groups!

  • Programs can run anywhere from 6 to 12 weeks depending on the type of group

  • Groups take place weekday evenings or on the weekends

  • There can be multiple volunteers working together in a group

  • Groups can be tailored to a volunteer’s personal interests

If you’re looking to gain valuable volunteer experience, while having fun spending time with a group of children or youth, please complete the contact form provided here, or call us at (250) 563-7410 and ask to speak with a program coordinator.
