A Fin-tastic week!

Week 4 was another fun (and busy) week! We did not two, but three fun science activities! We first started off with an intro SqueeGee painting activity, then headed into our main underwater aquarium activity, and then ended with a bonus marshmallow structure activity.

For the SqueeGee painting, each child was given a canvas and a few paints to choose from! The kids dripped some paint onto their canvas and then took turns using the squeegee to pull down their paint. Everyone ended up with some creative colour combinations!

After this, we headed into the main activity – underwater aquariums! For this, each child was given a mason jar, decorative rocks, a large fake plant, glow in the dark sharks, and blue water. The kids positioned and placed their plant in the rock, making sure it was secure. Then they planted their glow in the dark sharks and filled it with the blue "ocean" water! Everyone got to take their aquariums home and enjoy them.

With a bit of time to spare after the first two activities, the group finished off by making marshmallow structures. The kids were given toothpicks and marshmallows to create miniature structures! The structures and homes were most likely devoured by the participants before they could make it home!

It was a very packed, but also super fun session with the kids!
